BFG is doing the same thing with their new mud tires, they have the big ones available but still don't make much to even fit a 16" rim. Mud tires must be a big hit for the mall wheelers.
I think they're much more profitable for the tire manufacturers.

Ever notice the HUUUUGGGE price gap between ANY tire for a 15" wheel, and the same dia tire for a 17" (or larger) rim? (even though the tire for the larger rim takes a smaller amount of materials to manufacture it).

Another area where a HUUUGGGE price gap appears... 37" tires vs 35" (any size rim). You don't see even ¼ that amount of price difference between a 33" and 35" tire :huh:

But as long as the mall crawlers keep paying those kind of prices, they likely won't be coming down much anytime soon. :annoyed:
