First post, great site!
I looked through all the pages here and did not see an answer to my question so here it goes.
I have a 1991 Ranger 2.9L 4X4 super cab converted to Warn MANUAL lockouts (thanks to this site). I'm having problems with the crappy shift motor on the tcase engaging into 4X4.
My question is, could I leave my transfer case engaged in 4X4 all year long and just lock/unlock my hubs when I need 4X4? I would have the hubs unlocked all year and only lock them when I need 4X4.
Would this kill my tcase? I'm thinking it would be fine but I'm wondering about the front u-joints and pumpkin gears getting worn over time if the tcase is always engaged...
Any thoughts?
Thanks
