hey guys, sorry i havent updated in a while.

but got more progress.

i figured out all the wiring and got it to crank of the key, had to rewire the ignition.

got the disty wired. alternator installed, and wired.

plugs, wires, and that crap done, starter is in obviously.

i had to swap my pass manifold to a ram horn style that dumps straight down, because i realized that the one i had in there hit the bottom of the frame, and hit the starter when i put it up.

so other than that not too much more done, got the carb on, ready to do some pumbing.

gotta buy my gauges, hoses, and crap like that.

but she cranks, so its coming alive.

stay tuned, more blackwidow ahead.

Could you fill me in on the type of headers you were going to try to use. I'm doing the same swap and i was going to use block hugger headers for a toyota truck from northwestoffroad.com, since i'm going with a yota clip. Everyone keeps telling me the s10 long-tube conversion headers will fit by notching the bottom of the front frame. Thanks for your input.

well, the s10 headers will fit by notching the top and bottom of the frame (so ive been told)

im using stock ram horn style exhaust manifolds. i ported em out to flow better. i didnt feel like having the headache of making headers work.

chvlfrk has done 2 350 chevy swaps on your generation truck and he used a 88-92 driver side header and a shorty style on the pass side with the header collector modified.

heres a link for a guy using the s10 headers on a 1st gen. the truck runs and drives

well, slow progress made, and a setback.

got my sunpro gauges all installed and all the lights wired.

all my wiring under the dash is all redone and working nicely.

got my dash gauges hooked back up, just the fuel and volts work. (ford vs chevy)

got all the fuel plumbing done

electric fan installed and wired.

trans cooler installed, just need to plumb it.

now, tried to get fuel up to the carb, cranking and cranking, nothing.

pulled the fuel pump out, and it was almost frozen. good thing i caught it of it would have messed my cam up.

so in the trash that went, and a stock replacement went in its place.

still need to fab and exhaust up. this is gonna be fun.

need to get some form-a-flex rad hoses. and heater hoses.

then we fire it up.

hoping by weekend to be getting alot done.

Proud to see you getting closer to getting it done, I can't even get started on mine yet.

remember, to post a rubber burn when it's running.

UPDATE

new fuel pump is in and pumping fuel nicely.

got my exhaust almost done. will finish it monday.

then just finish some plumbing, and we fire it up.

exhaust is 2 1/2 custom made to a set of flowmaster 40s and then dumps before the rear axle.

its a true dual setup that wasnt bad to make at all. just need a little more piping to finish it.
