Is it possible to mount a steering stabilizer/damper on my 92 ranger 2wd?

It's got a little bump-steer and I wanna see if I can weld up some mounts and such for it to work.

Thank you!

You might be able put one on there. Now, if the suspension is worn it will only make it worse later on and dangerous of course. I put one on my 99 lifted 2wd. I had an easy mount. I had to tack on a mount to put the mounting bolt through, but that was it. I just mounted the front of it to the hydraulic steering assist setup. You are a welder right? You can just by the kit like and did and see where you can mount it.

Yes, the steering is all the same, be it 4x4 or 4x2 for pre 97 rangers. But unless your modified beyond 5" don't, you have either failing parts or bad alignment. Not enough caster or too much can cause bump steering.

The suspension is stock. Fully rebuilt with urethane bushings and all. Everything in the truck is either new or newer (minus the gearbox).

Hey straycat, you got any part #'s or close-ups to your setup? That one looks pretty nice.

steering stabilizer would just be a band aid to your problem.. you have an issue somewhere. there's no reason for you to need one...

My credo
it is easier to fix and understand than "her"
i dont run one....there is one on my truck, but it dont work. it is the stock d 60 unit that was on my axle when i swapped it.

closest i will likely have for one, will be hydro assist or full hydro.

and i run 44 inch tires at times.

i do not like them cause i like to know well in advance if something is coming undone.

that said if you want one you just order one and run it. if its mostly for looks because you like that style have them drill the unit so it offers little resistance after the oil drains out.....looks you want and plenty of warning if shits coming uncorked and money in the market...winnie win win.

Hey, Bro. I had to go through a few kits at my 4x4 shop to find one that I wanted. It is a Procomp setup. Everything came in the box. I will get a close up shot Wednesday for you. I am laid up with a strained back and I can barely move around the house. The cats think I am a resting spot for them to lay one since I can't move to good right now. lol
