Hello all.
Its been a while since I posted on here a problem I had with a new hurst shifter on my '08 Ranger. Long story short after doing a lot of highway driving with my new hurst one day I noticed I had a puddle of fluid underneath my truck. Come to find out the stock shifter vents pressure from the transmission, well the hurst seals it up tight and doesnt allow venting until the seal blows out. I searched around for a fix and read where a few other people had the same issue. I ended up fixing my problem and was bored so I decided to post a few pics of what I did to help someone out incase they run into the same issues.
I ended up getting a small barb fitting from a hobby shop, I drilled and threaded into the black spacer plate between the shifter and the transmission and ran a small rubber hose up to the engine compartment and coiled up a few inches of hose. A few thousand miles logged and its perfect, not a trace of fluid leaked. It seems to be venting perfectly. It was scary for a while there I thought I was going to have to go back to the stock shifter!
