It's not just home insurance. Vehicle insurance is shooting up too. Insurance for my Ranger went up 30% last year and another 5% just last month. (Six–month payments)
Yeah, our Bronco went up 5 bucks for the next 6mo, my 16 F-150 went up $100

My credo
In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.
Everything is going up astronomically

My vehicle insurance keeps going up too but that's my own doing 😂 😂 I keep adding more vehicles.

Actually it's not bad, I have liability on 8 vehicles and with just me & my wife on the policy it was about $110/mo.

My Home Owners and two truck policy went up 10% this last annual billing.

I'm with Auto-Owners and due to property values going up and auto repairs (mechanical and auto body) going bat chit crazy, I consider myself fortunate. Prepay one year for each nets a substantial discount.

I think people need to stop filing claims for every little thing and that would help. Hail... for example... so what if one shingle lost some grit or there's a couple dents in your gutter. I can't even claim that, I have steel siding and roofs on my buildings. They said unless it goes through, it's cosmetic and not covered.

My buddy sold his house recently and agreed to a contingency that he would put in a hail claim before the sale. They put a new garage door, new sliding door, windows, and a roof (IIRC) on the house, it was like $30k worth of stuff. The garage door for example... it had TWO tiny little dings. The sliding door, a small piece of plastic broke off the edge. Roof was in good shape... the buyer just wanted a bunch of new stuff installed on a 30 year old house and insurance covered it.

I think the insurance companies are so afraid of customers saying "you denied my hail claim and now my house has been leaking for 20 years which caused my mold allergy" so they just say yes to everything...then jack up everyone's rates... when the homeowner should have just fixed shit and taken care of their house to begin with.

My mortgage was $760/mo when I bought my house. It crept up to $920 as of now... I'm guessing it will be about $1100 after this years taxes and IF I have no other choice than to keep Farmers. That is the dirty little secret about buying a house... they never tell you that your mortgage payments could damn near double in 9 years.
Mine has been increasing yearly as well. Mostly due to insurance premium increases than taxes. Being that I have a 15 year mortgage, the payments are kind of high. So, any increase in what I have to pay is not appreciated.

My vehicle insurance hasn't been too bad. It has raised and and dropped a few times. I'm on the up cycle at the moment.

Dont even get me started on vehicles.

My insurance co is ramming my ass for 340 bucks a month for my wife and me, both with spotless records and 4 vehicles. Granted full coverage on 3, but still

My one neighbor is on to your strategy... and I'm okay with it.
I have no problem with the neighbors doing stuff like that.

Id much rather see a few junk vehicles then have them partying every night till 4am or something

Im lucky here....my neighbors are awesome. The kid kinda kitty corner from me does some shit that irritates me...but its not enough to raise hell about

Its all that high. MI has the highest car insurance rates in the country.

My sister just bought a 2020 jeep cherokee. She pays basically the same amount for full coverage with a ticket or two (in ohio) as i do for my friggin 87 ranger with PLPD

Mine is $139 for full coverage on both trucks and the trailer. Of course, I have my home insurance through the same company. So, that plays into it as well. Unfortunately, credit score and where you live can hammer you too. Never mind the type of vehicle being insured, the age of the driver(s), and their driving record. None of this is an implication that you are a poor driver or anything negative.

Insurance is a racket anyway. We are all required to have it unless you can prove you are able to self insure and jump through all the hoops to do it. By the time you need the insurance, you've already more than paid for the vehicle and then some along with any potential claims by the other party. Insurance is all about YOU paying them and not THEM paying you.

I couldnt even tell you the exact breakdown of mine. I do have homeowners with them too. I just know its flat highway robbery.

I was going to drop the full coverage on the 97...but it was only going to save me like 15 bucks a month. So i was like why bother?

But my ranger pisses me off because every time theres a fucking rate renewal it goes up a decent amount. EVERY TIME.

I called them and bitched and told them that if i wreck that thing you guys are out absolutly nothing besides what i destroy in the process...why am i being charged close to the amount of my 17 grand cherokee that if it gets tottalled you instantly owe me like 22k.

It makes no sense at all.
