no. they really dont flow any better than a stock cat. maybe going with a cherry bomb extreme or something. but other than that nothing

My credo
WHY DO I KEEP BUYING DODGES?!?!?
Get rid of the 2.25 pipe & your current muffler. Put in a original 40 flowmaster & install 2.5 pipe on both sides of the muffler.
That's what mine has and I like it...:dunno:

there wont be really any sound difference between the thrush welded and the flow 40. there basically the same. ive had them both and actually think the thrush sounds deeper and louder.

i do agree with the 2.5 pipe though. and if he wants to kick it out 45 infront of the tire. id almost suggest a 3" pipe. itll give more sound and wont hurt performance on that short of a pipe

thanks for all the help. im gonna try to step up the pipe size before and after the muufler to 2.5. the only reason i went with 2.25 is because the exhaust guy said that because i went with the welded instead of a turbo i would loose to much back pressure and the truck wouldnt run right.

2.5 would be the most you should do. personally with the 3.0 2.25 is the most i would have done. change out your muffler to something louder but you don't want to lose too much back pressure by going to big

Im aware they sound similar, but I like the Flowmaster better. To my ears it sounds cleaner and has a bit more of a nice rumble to it.
thats cool.

personally. i have the flow 40's on my ranger all the way out the back. its got a decent rumble. but its not throaty enough so i just ordered my jones full boar racing mufflers. there essentially cherry bomb extreme knock offs. those things will flow like a s.o.b

hopeing those will be what im looking for. but for 30.00 a muffler. i was willing to give em a try. and i wanted to redo the way my tailpipes run anyway.

and i also ordered some jones 3 1/2 stainless 16'' long slash tips
