WTF?? How did you get it that light?

My 429 will weigh much less than a stock 5.0 when I'm finished. If it's gonna be that light it's got me nervous...

What kinds of mods do you have done. I am gone SAS with fullwidth D44/9" from a '79 Bronco. I really don't think the weight changed much as I pulled a TON of things out of the truck to fit it all in.

When it comes to the engine, I have pistons almost half the weight of stock (Diamond Racing), aluminum heads, aluminum intake, aluminum throttle body (1/4 weight of carb), replaced cast iron timing cover with aluminum cover and cast iron water pump with remote mounted Meziere electric. Also tossing the steel pulleys for March Aluminum. I'm definitely gonna be under a SBF weight. I want equal weight distribution if I can do it.

Mine was a stock iron block, iron head, full accessories motor pulled from a '92 T-Bird and then dropped right in my '97. At the time, I thought mine was heavy, although I was comparing to my friend's '91 S-10... it was like just over 2,700!!!

I removed the 6 cylinder engine, radiator, AOD transmission, and the original exhaust. Installed a cast iron block, heads, and exhaust manifolds for the 351C with a C4 transmission with an all aluminum radiator, electric fuel pump, and that's about it. :headbang:

I don't recall when I weighed mine but it could have had either iron or aluminum heads at the time. Intake was definately aluminum. A small block Ranger is about the same weight as a big block Classic Stang.

How do you like the Meziere pump? How much weight difference is there in the aluminum pulleys vs. steel ones?

Not enough to affect the weight distribution.:D You're talking ounces here. Aluminum block, heads and intake will do the most. Waterpump will too, but again, not enough to make a difference, maybe a pound at best over an iron pump.
