I removed the 6 cylinder engine, radiator, AOD transmission, and the original exhaust. Installed a cast iron block, heads, and exhaust manifolds for the 351C with a C4 transmission with an all aluminum radiator, electric fuel pump, and that's about it.
I don't recall when I weighed mine but it could have had either iron or aluminum heads at the time. Intake was definately aluminum. A small block Ranger is about the same weight as a big block Classic Stang.
How do you like the Meziere pump? How much weight difference is there in the aluminum pulleys vs. steel ones?
Not enough to affect the weight distribution.
You're talking ounces here. Aluminum block, heads and intake will do the most. Waterpump will too, but again, not enough to make a difference, maybe a pound at best over an iron pump.
