Are there any outfits that take new Rangers and deck them out for street use? Preferably factory backed? For example, with Mustangs there is Saleen and Foose and a number of others. Is there such a thing for the Ranger/Explorer frame?

not that i know of, i believe there used to be Saleen Rangers and Explorers in the early to mid 90s and maybe before that. There was a Ranger "Thunderbolt" but i dont know who backed that or the story behind them.

Supersixmotorsports.com They will mod your 4.0 with as much as 600 hp, maybe more depending on how much money you wanna spend. For everything else any truck shop or musclecar shop will do.

the thunderbolt was just a trim package. stock drivetrane and engine. maybe your thinking of the lightening bolt concept which had a 5.4 transplant from an f-150 lightening?

but no, there are no high performance versions of the rangers available. there have been a few high performance concepts over the years, but nothing that actuall made it out the door.

Couple years ago I got some F/R leftover stabilizer bars that a outfit bought up from the Thunderbolt outfit which were much heavier than on my 02 Ranger. (The 02 and my 08 didn't come with rear stab bars) I added these and the handling was instantly much better. I salvaged the rear when I traded in the 02 and have it now on my 08. Will look around, but doubt they are still out there or have any left. I think now if folks want them they get them from the Bronco or something like that.
