Hey guys- I've had a 2000 Ranger regular cab XLT 4x4 5 speed for about two years now! My engine blew up in the winter, and I almost junked the truck. However I found a used engine+transmission for $400 dollars, and got the engine rebuilt by my fathers friend for $500. I've decided to replace the engine myself to save a little money, so I joined the forum to find all the best advice and details. This forum is great, thanks a lot everyone! :)

Welcome to TRS!

Basically for removing and replaceing an engine, mark plugs and wires as you pull them off to be sure they go back in the same place, Double then TRIPLE check everything as you are taking it out and putting the new one in to make sure and avoind accidentally ripping a wire or snapping a bolt you forgot.
