I have a 2004 Ford Ranger edge v6 3.0... I've had it for about 2 years but i have had so many problems with it. When i first bought the truck, the transmission was slipping and the overdrive light was blinking so i took it to the shop the mechanic said he had changed some valves in the transmission and he had disconnected the computer and put it back on, he said once he put the computer back on everything was working perfect. 5 months after the ranger was fixed my trany began to slip again so what i did was i bought a used computer and installed it and got new keys for that used computer and the truck started to work fine again then 3 months later the trany gave out so i left the ranger unused for about 10 months till recently 2 weeks ago i found somebody selling a 2007 ford ranger transmission so i bought it for a good price i took the truck to the shop and they switched the transmissions and the truck was working fine, the gears were switching smooth. The only thing was that the overdrive light would turn on when i would start the truck so i thought of disconnecting the battery and disconnecting the computer and connecting everything back and that worked the overdrive light doesn't turn on anymore. now im having a really weird problem every time i put the truck in reverse the radio goes silent and when i put the blinker light on both front and back of the side i have the turn signal towards go off crazy as if i need new bulbs which i don't , and even the cab brake light starts to go off crazy as well , and when i break the cab brake light only works the two back lights stay normal as if i wasn't braking . I don't know what else to do because i love my truck and i don't want to get rid of it so if anyone knows what could be the problem i would appreciate it, if you could help me.....Thanx!

Start checking wire and cleaning every ground in the truck. It sounds as if the truck may have had prior water damage. To clean up the grounds unbolt or screw the wire terminal, sand the contact area down to bare metal re-attach the wire and spot paint the area to stop future corrosion.
