Alright, Any input is great! I grenaded my driverside hub this evening. in a parking lot (im in college) Put the truck in 4x4 and first gear heard a clunk which i've heard many times... but still was just spining the rears. got out and this is what i found!

Now I know that the auto hubs are alot weaker than manuals and i plan on upgrading... but what i would like to know is if anyone has seen anything like this. and is there a chance i broke my axle shaft? if so whats an easy way to chech... it didnt seem broke, but i'm not sure? Thanks Guys appreciate any input!

looks like "normal auto hub failure" to me. clean up the carnage and pop a set of warren lockout hubs and the conversion kit and your ready to roll.. it takes maybe a half our a side if your lucky..

Thanks Grey... Wasn't sure if that was normal, never saw pics before. Is there a chance of any shaft failure?

I would say less than 5% chance anything else is damaged.

Put Warn manual hubs on it and you should be good again. :icon_thumby:

i agree with junkie, the only thing i could see getting damaged are the outer splines on the shaft. they look fine in the pic, but i cant see all of them.

slap some manual hubs on it and you'll be good to go. there's usually at least 2 or 3 sets for sale in the classifieds on here.

Check out Rugged Ridge locking hubs. I run them on my ranger, i have never had a problem ever with them and they are also a lil easier on the wallet. :headbang:

They are a bitch and a half to get on and off (due to the clip mechanism that takes 7-9 tiny screw drives to remove) but when they are on they are on.

2x on the rugged ridge hubs. Had a set on my 97 4x4 and they worked fantastic. Never an issue.
