Better Idea, don't get one. They don't sound that great IMO. Well on Big Blocks they do... but a v6 ranger won't be good. I would just get a flowmaster or something similar.

The longer it is the less noisy it is. The inside diameter also affects how loud it is, the larger the louder.

I would recommend against it. They sound great on a v-8, but on a v-6 it sounds like a ricer. I had one on my truck, and I hated it.

I put a 31" long,2 in inside diameter Cherrybomb on my truck and it sounds good for a V-6. It has a deep sound and it's not very loud and doesn't sound "blatty" or "buzzy". I used a turn-down right out of the muffler because I started with no exhaust,it was gone past the catalytic convertors. If I had a tail pipe it would be even quieter. It dont sound like a "ricer" that's for sure. Why did I use a glass pack?,it was cheap. Being on a tight budget I can't see putting a $70 muffler on a $500 truck.

yeah i have mine ending under the cab with a turn down aimed down and out to the side running the pipe out on it would put the sound back farther. and the cost is a plus too. i was only out 30 bucks total.

straight pipe. find some junk pipe and it will be cheaper than a glasspack and sound better.

even cheaper is no exhaust.

That was on a 2.9 with an 18'' glasspack.

oh i had ment that it would be diffent with the 4.0 vs a 2.8 or 2.9. id imagine 2.8s and 2.9s sound exactly the same right?

I tried a glasspack on my 2.8, its only saving grace until I found something else was that the tires would drown it it at about 40mph.
