Hey guys, I was on here a while back building a 2.3 L 1971 VW single cab (truck). Well, I did get it built and in typical fashion for me, sold it. I bought a 1980 F-150 . I couldn't get past the 12-13 mpg and sold it.
Today , I bought a 1997 ext cab ranger with a 2.3 L 5-speed . 120,000 miles, I rode my Yamaha Super Tenere to Dallas from Shreveport, did the paperwork, rented a trailer and trailered the bike back to Shreveport.
I figured that would be a good test for the truck. It passed.
There's a rear main leak and I want to know if the seal can be replaced easily with the trans out of the way?
I think on the old 2.3 you had to split the case???? I may be getting the ranger engine confused with the old v' dub engine.
I should be around again as I like to get the most out my vehicles and like hanging around folks with more knowledge than me.
