I'm pretty set on the quality of the Yukon gears for the R&P but I'm wondering why there is such a difference in cost for the install kits. Are the install parts that Yukon supplies really that superior to the Genuine kits? Also, if I got a Yukon R&P but wanted to save some dollars with the Genuine kit will they work with each other?

Are you looking at the same kind of kit for both Genuine and Yukon (Master kit vs. a mini kit)?

IMO, I think the big thing is to just make sure that it comes with Timken bearings (if a Master kit) and you should be OK.

I've used both & they both come with Timken bearings. However, the Yukon kit has a way better side bearing shim kit setup than the Genuine Gear kit does.

I would rather use the Yukon gear over the others but really don't care otherwise. I have started alot of gear changes and have ended up using some of the left over shims from the Yukon sets. I always use the spec sheet from the Yukon gear sets.

Thanks guys. I suppose I'll go with a full Yukon setup.
