Mine is running stock coils.

I had cut them before the swap, but it didn't get any lower with the new motor.

Find some springs out of a Ranger that is an extended cab, v6 and has air conditioning. You can verify that the springs are stiffer by measuring the wire diameter. I got some from a junkyard and cut off a coil to change the ride height for my application.

Just go to NAPA or any auto store and get a brand new set from a V6 ranger. There's a noticeable difference in appearance between the 4 and 6 cylinder models. I put those in mine(used to be a 2.3 2WD) and the ride quality is awsome!!

Will the 4.0 springs improve the ride quality on ranger with just a 2.3?

If you want a stiffer ride, then sure. might lift the front end up a touch too, especially if the ones you have now are sagged.

Lowering arms :icon_confused: What year is your truck that you are using "arms"?? If you have a TIB ranger, make sure you get a set of springs off a 4.0L equipped ranger. If that is not enough lift/support for your truck, go with 4x4 4.0L x-cab springs (the heaviest factory spring available). If you want any heavier or taller spring, you can use F-150 springs with slight mods...

My '88 ranger already rides like a covered wagon, don't need any springs that are any stiffer. I've spent alot of money for all new front end parts including tires and shocks (sensa-trac), and still a very hard ride. You can feel every bump in the road.

96-06 Chevy 1500 springs with a coil cut off work perfect for my diesel conversion. Its HEAVY though.

With my 4x4 V6 truck I noticed no difference in ride height.
