Is it true the 4 speed behind a 2.3 in a Fairmont can be used in a Ranger? Any special attention or is this (hopefully) just a bolt up?

I too wonder this compatibility. I feel like the fairmonts with 2.3L and 4spd manuals are all too rare for anyone to have tried this lol.
