Exhaust recommendations...

Hi all,

After owning my '93 for the last 21 years I think it's time to replace the cats and while I'm under there the exhaust as well.

So the question is what system would you guys recommend?

I like a little burble, not fart can or obnoxiously loud crap.

Not looking for cheap, I've owned the truck for two decades and plan to keep it around.

So what say you? Borla, Dynomax, Gibson, Flowmaster?

I recommend Magnaflow Exhaust. The sound it makes is not too loud and it gives the extra boost of power that my truck needs.

I used to have a 94 3.0 with a flowmaster super 40 delta flow, single in, dual out, ran the pipes out 90* on either side behind the rear wheels. Sounded beautiful, but was pretty noisy in the cab. The 94 4.0 I have now just got a regular 40 series delta flow single in, dual out, with both pipes coming out at 90* in front of the rear wheel. This also sounds great, and the regular 40 delta flow is a MUCH quieter/less resonate muffler than the super 40, and its not terribly loud when heard from outside the truck, just a nice, refined flowmaster tone, not like a soup can exhaust at all. However, with the pipes exiting so much closer to the cab, it does still resonate inside a bit at certain rpm's. I would definitely recommend the 40 series, however I would also recommend you run the pipes out behind the rear wheels if you want it quieter inside.
