DANGERRANGER83 & ESCORT_GTS: Check out this thread COOL RANGER BUMPER started by JONPOPEXXX

His bumper is available in a DIY kit form or he welds it up:

Prices: Comes standard with 4" light holes and a bracket to mount your stock round fog lights if you have them. Mounting Brackets included......
Winch Version:
-$499 DIY bumper kit (all parts included you weld bumper)
-$549 DIY bumper kit with pre runner tube (all parts included you weld bumper)

-$899 for bare steel bumper
-$999 for powder coated bumper
-$1149 for powder coated bumper with pre runner guard

Non Winch Version:
-$349 DIY bumper kit (all parts included you weld bumper)
-$499 DIY bumper kit with pre runner tube (all parts included you weld bumper)

-$599 for bare steel bumper
-$699 for powder coated bumper
-$899 for powder coated bumper with pre runner guard

Options:

Shackle Mounts- Add $50
Add 6" Light- Add $75
Reciever- Add $65

I want to go with the DIY kit with the winch version & the pre-runner tube. I can get a receiver tube for less & also some 1" solid stock lazer cut to my specs with 3/4 hole for less.

I would be putting my 6" lights between bumper & pre-runner bar or on top of pre-runner bar or opt not to have the pre-runner tube & mount 6" lights behind the honey comb grille.

Yet at only $50 for the pre-runner tube I can decide that when I get the kit.

I would want the bumpers powder coated close to the paint color I will be painting my truck & could probably get a bumper done for $100 or less.

I have sent him a PM asking if he's planning to build a rear bumper with same styling & swing tire options, haven't got any info as of yet

yeah i have no where near that much in my front bumper... and that's completed. all i did was buy the steel, help with some of the work, pick it up, and paint it... i didn't weld or grind anything.

The bumper would cost more then the winch I plan on putting on her. I dont plan on making a new front bumper, just modding my current one and brush guard and doing the nessessery work to it so it can hold up to the winch pulling my truck, I just dont have the heart to get rid of it, been with the truck since we got it 14 years ago.

First thing is first, need to save up for the winch so that I can start that project.

I hope to be starting the transmission swap here soon. It's killing me not having 4wd with all the rain we have been getting. I am missing out on having any fun with my buddys Sami in the mud and such.... Guess this is my motivation to get it done... I have pics of alot of stuff I have been doing along with my friends Samurai. Photobucket or my computer is not working right. I need to try from another computer to see if it works because I can access them through my phone.

my new winch bumper should be done mid next week. still ALOT of welding to be done on it but it's coming along. it will be 10'' closer to the front of my truck and should greatly improve my aproach angle.

I dont know about your truck but on mine it is possiable to get the winch to fit above the framerail's behind the grill. with minimal cutting. should look pretty slick when i get it done.

I've been looking in catalogs and searches on the internet for different ideas. I think i will be building a tube bumper. My brothers friend has an awesome hydraulic tube/pipe bender. He says he will help me make it. He has built two Suzuki Samurai. One with an exo cage and 3/4 ton axles. The other almost stock. Have pics I need to post on here if I can figure this crap out.

and as far as the OBA it was pretty easy to hook up. then again i do plumbing and hvac by trade so i had 99% of the part's on my van. i also used a cheapy 2 gallon compressor for the storage tank, gauge set, and also had a 90 psi pressure switch built in. just took the motor and compressor off the tank and bolted it all in my toolbox. put the spring check inline under the truck.

Yet ANOTHER thing that has been pointed out to me to do to my truck...OBA. Yes I have no clue how to hook it up but nothing a quick look in the tech library (love that we have that here) cant fix.

So much stuff to do...so little time/funds to do it all with.

Small update. Been working on the trans swap. So far i have gutted the 2.3 and ordered some parts like seals and such. The bearings and gears are still in good shape. I had replaced all the bearings 3 years ago in it. So hopefully starting next weekend i can swap all the guts to the 4.0 trans. question, should i swap the geaqrs from the 2.3 or just keep the same gears in the 4.0?

Is there a difference in gear ratios between the two of them?
