I have a 1988 Ranger 2.3 liter and the motor is starting to die. I found a 1993 2.3 liter for cheap. Will I be able to swap these two motors easily?

Depends, what is the '93 motor originally out of?

For the following, I'm assuming that your '88 is EFI with a distributor and the '93 is a EFI without a distributor. If so, in order to install it as a complete engine you'll need to get the computer, wiring harness and sensor package from the donor vehicle.

Or, to simplify things a bit, you could just install your cylinder head and distributor on the '93 short block.
