i have a 99 with the 2.5 that is siezed but have a 2.5 that installed in a 1997 and wondering what needs to be changed back for the 99 truck

Was the 2.5 swapped to the '97? That should have been a 2.3L...

But the '95-97 2.3L is nearly identical to the '98-01 2.5L with the main difference being the fuel rail since it went returnless in '98, accessories might be slightly different too but I don't remember what the '99 a coworker has looks like under the hood...

yes it was installed in the 97 i was told it had to be converted back for the 99 never done this so trying to figure everything out before i start

Any differences will be external, the power steering is different between a '97 and a '99 since the '97 has a steering box and the '99 has a rack, the pump might be the same, other than the fuel rail I mentioned before it should bolt in, you'll have both to reference, don't foresee any big surprises, I kinda want a 2.5 to have spare for my '97...
