Hey everyone. I have a 1996 Ford Ranger. 2.3 engine, your average setup.

Its been due for a spark plug replacement for a while. But im not sure if thats the problem.

The details. Whenever I take off it kind of sputters. Its like it looses power for a split second. Its only when I take off fast and sometimes when Im high in a gear.

Now its backfiring like crazy and the truck almost has no power. I mean it still runs but sounds and runs awful.

Could I blame this on my plugs or could I have a bigger issue?

I wouldve gotten them changed long ago but I work 2 jobs and never have a day off to just go get it fixed. Now that its become an issue, Ill find time.

Thanks for the help!
