If you have noise in all gears except 4th gear, that tells me the front mainshaft bearing (some call it the pocket bearing) is bad. The reason you don't hear it in 4th gear is because that is a 1:0 to 1 ratio, the input shaft and main shaft are locked together in 4th gear. A throw out bearing would only make noise any time you have your foot on the clutch pedal.
I've seen alot of postings related to this. Is there an easy fix to this? I'm not a mechanic but I my brother knows a little about 'em.
Whats best advise to fix this without replacing the entire thing. I was told it has a rebuilt or replaced tranny already. Also, can someone post a link to a diagram of my exact tranny?
