HELP !! I replaced all 3 of my u-joints (2 drive-line Ranger 4X4) on Thursday and on Sunday the middle , (I don't know the proper name, they said "carrier"bearing at the parts store) went out. Looked like an easy fix..... I can't get the short yoke piece off. I tried under the truck, then removed the d-line to work bench it. The pullers I have are cheap and should be tossed, they haven't helped. I'm assumming FORD made a special tool for this removal ? Any info will be appreciated ! Thanks

This is not an easy removal. Just lots of hard work to pull it off of the shaft. And the best part is the new one goes on just as hard, and you cannot force it in due to bending the metal parts. I did this once before just swaping to a one piece.

Don't be afraid to take a deadblow and nice thick chisel or something to pound that Carrier bearing off. Or call a friend and use extreme predjudice on it!
