This thing, not sure what its called, is broken. It causes the truck to lean to the passenger side. I'm lookin to replace it. From what I can see it looks like its held in with just a few bolts. I just want to see if thats all there is to it.

Yes, I think its called the coil bucket, and its what the top of the spring presses against.

I think its just as simple as a replacement. But thats held in by rivets. You are going to be doing alot of grinding and maybe some drilling and then putting bolts in to replace those rivets. You may need to compress that spring too. I think the break lines attach to it also. Sounds like a bit of work but will be alot safer when you are done. :D

easy peasy.no you dont need a spring compresser....just unbolt the bolt that holds the spring onto the i beem...remove the lower part of the shock from the radius arm....also remove the caliper to get more clearence....push down on rotor then spring should pop out...at least it does onthe 4x4s and it did on thr 2wd i worked on....and the coil bucket is held on with 3 rivits.grinder drill or if you have a torch...burn them away....then you wil have to take the brake line out of there and now just bolt in the new one...replace brake line if needed...put spring back in...jack on i beem..to compress spring....bolt spring back in and make sure that the spring it set into the bucket,,,it is kind of keyd.....bolt shock on....put caliper back on and bleed brakes if need to be...you can do this repair in an after noon no problem

Hey Danger. Go to Velde's (since you are from Peoria) talk to Jeremy in the Parts Department and tell him what you need.

Parts Numbers are E3TZ-5A306B $87.43 Lt
F37Z-5A306B $83.75 Rt

He can have them the next day.

Forgot to add those part #'s are for the 4x4 truck. They don't offer the left side for a 2wd. The 4x4 ones will work though, all it is I think is that the mounting holes are in different spot. Easily drilled.

I have a buddy who works the parts counter at the local Ford Dealer. I just call him and ask for part number and price. He comes right back with them.
