try it if you get the chance. its amazing! You guys are making me quite hungry.
Too bad I've never had a chance to try any kind of venison before.
was it gutshot by any chance? a few years ago my grandpa gutshot a deer and all the meat tasted like sh**, especially the inner loinsI can recall only one deer we couldn't stand to eat. It had a sour smell while it was hanging, and it was worse when we cooked some of the meat.
That's why I have the grille guard. Gives me enough for a sandwichwhatever part ends up against the exhaust after running the little bugger over, rip it off and chow down.
goes good with beer.
Gutshot deer can be saved... but you have to get to them right away, get them gutted right away, and wash it out as soon as possible. Usually if I gut a deer and find the stomach or whatever is tore open, I clean it out as good as possible, try to wash it out some with my canteen, and then get moving. If there is a creek or stream nearby I'll go there and rinse it out some. If not I get home and take a hose to it. If you get it washed out right away it's usually alright.was it gutshot by any chance? a few years ago my grandpa gutshot a deer and all the meat tasted like sh**, especially the inner loins
that was the only time venison was ever wasted in my family.

You say that like its a good thing. Where I come from you eat deer for the gamey taste. If you don't want the gamey taste you go the BK.no gamey tast to them.
