Clutch master cylinder push rod - need help.

So I purchased a new master cylinder for my 95 Explorer after doing a clutch swap, new slave and new clutch line. I can't get any pressure at all after bleeding for hours and hours. Anyway, the new master cylinder I got the push rod that connects to the pedal and goes into the master cyl doesn't seem to attach in any way. It just moves in and out of the master. It's very strange. How does it attach in there? Need help. I feel like this could be the reason I'm getting zero pressure. There are no fluid leaks in the system at all. Went all over it head to toe. Help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

The clutch master cylinder has a sheet metal disc with a couple tabs on it. The disc fits into the cup in the firewall end of the master cylinder bore. The clutch actuator rod snaps into this disc the first time the clutch pedal is pushed down. If you don't have a hard clutch pedal there may not have been enough force to snap the rod into the disc so it stays. This is not the reason you can't get a hard pedal. It's almost certainly air in the system, probably at the end of the master which is the highest part of the system. Check out the bleeding tips in the tech section. Good luck.

Okay so I took the whole assembly out (master cyl and clutch line) and bench bled it and got all the air out. The minute I put it back in and pressed the pedal the rod snapped right into place. Problem solved. Thanks for the help!
