Okay, my engine (2.9) runs fine at idle but as soon as i start going anywhere it starts to bog down at a sertin point on the gas peddal like its not getting enough gas and if i give it alot of gas the engine will stall. not to sure whats going on. My guess is a fuel filter, there might have been some crap in the tank sucked up because it was quite low(I did get gas and its at 3/4 full) any Ideas would help.

Thanks,
Syko

Please excuse me while I rant for a moment....

Ok, why is it people believe that letting the fuel "Get low"
will cause "Crap" to get sucked up?

Does it not occour to anyone that the pickup is ALWAYS in the
same place (at the bottom of the tank) and that the tank is
designed with a sump that concentrates the crap?

that stuff can get sucked up just as quickly from a full tank as it
can from 1/8th (or less) tank....

Next point is that by the time you've run through a tank of fuel the entire
fuel load has been cycled through the filter 5-7times...

Rant mode off.

The filters are just so overcapacity that you simply cannot tell a
new filter from a 90% clogged one... but let that filter get 95%
clogged and you notice it at higher throttle settings...
let it get 98% clogged and an automatic truck can't even get
out of park without stalling.

Infact it DOES, it's just that fuel is usually clean enough
so that it takes a long time to build up in the filter.

You'll often find that you can find a "happy point" where
a smaller fuel consumption but at a higher rpm will move
the truck better in a "limp to where you can work on it" mode.

When the filter gets real bad there is insufficient pressure for
proper atomization and the engine tends to backfire.
