Thank you for starting a dedicated build thread.

Now, so we don't have to browse, and to help your functional thread along:

What exactly are your future plans?

Engine?
Axles/Suspension?
Bolt on goodies?

What's your budget?
How are your fab. skills?

What kind of wheeling will it be used for?
4wd conversion?
Mud bogger?
Trail rig?
Rock crawler?
Long travel, high speed stuff?
Pavement pounding?

Build a truck that will function best for what you need it to. Take tons of time to plan, and post it here before you do anything drastic.

I've had a few TRS members call me out on a shit brained idea and it really saved my ass.

Good luck,
Adam

thanks and leaving the 2.9 in it for now, in a few years probably SAS, and the bolt on are in that picture, window visors, fender trim, rear tail light covers, I already have big lights to go on the lightbar, moon visor, thats about it for that

Im getting a job this summer for $9 an hour and on the side I will work in my pops sawmill for a few hundred bucks..And I'm great and welding/grinding/saldering (spelling is wrong lol)/ pop got a setalline torch that i can use..Im pretty good

It will mostly be in the bogs seems thats ALL we have in newfoundland, and like i said probably SAS in a few years..but there is a good chance that we may move to alberta so them it might just be a ordinary 4x4 trail rig.
thanks

oh yea and this week sometime I should have my BRAND NEW STARTER!!:D, you remember how it felt when your baby got her first brand new part? I do :thefinger: hehehe

also I dont think i mentioned this but i was at a scrapyard yesterday and got a ranger emblem cause one of mine are missing.. and i got a FORD symbol that goes on the grill but i never seen one like it before? its completely silver with FORD just wrote in normal letters, you can barely pick it out cause its all silver..Ill get a pic when i come home cause im goin to grandpas house now till tomorrow, (where the ranger is but i have nothing to do with it, beside stick on the new emblems )
and also I got 2 brand new V6 Emblems at Wall Mart..hehe..

Another set of questions to address in your build:

For a SAS, what axle do you plan on using?

Leafs or coils?

What are you going to do to the rear to make it match the front?

What tire size are you planning on running?

Gear ratio?

Traction aids?

Feels good, man.

Probably just run it off of foot pedals like a paddle-boat. No worries with gas prices then! :taunt:

Im going to cut a hole in the floor and use it like the damn Flinstones, lol,
Well actually Everything has come to a pause since im waiting for my new starter to get here, I put the ford symbol that is all gray in the center of the hood right on the front where it slopes down a bit, also when i go up there today i will stick on my V6 emblems, and the old ranger emblems i have got some blue paint around the edges. a nice bit of it too, so thinkin Ill just get it off somehow, and im going to stick them under the front signal lights on each side, you will all see soon:icon_thumby:

If you insist on changing the intake plumbing, make sure that the new intake actually gets fresh air from the front of the truck and not from under the hood, or else it's not helping anything.

Apparently the stock air box can flow enough for a 5.0L V8 and is already equipped with a fresh air intake.

Oh, :thefinger:

haha, well i got it installed and everything today,
but my truck will turn over fine but doesnt catch,
and i realized, the fuel pump wasnt cutting in when the key was turned.
and guess what
I removed the bed myself!, remember i tried it on twitch and didnt work? well i just have a thing for rangers..:thefinger:
well anyways i took off the bed, (btw im leaving it off cause it looks bad ass!)
and took the cap out from the top of the tank and checked the fuel pump, i put battery charger on it and the pump cuts in ok then, so it has to be the wiring, so i checked the wires with my tester and they dont work, so i have to trace the wire right up to the front, im thinkin the wire is gone where the ignition is or something, Im getting a mechanic over to look at it later on, and should have her working tomorrow.

that is all..

Sounds good, glad to hear you're making progress on it. Be careful using a battery charger around the gas tank though, sparks make stuff go BOOM!
