I just received my body bushing kit from James Duff. I knew it didn't come with the required hardware. And none of my factory hardware will be reusable. I'm planning on getting all new 1/2" bolts, locknuts, and washers to install with. My question is go I need to put a sleeve inside the bushings, or not. The factory hardware acts like a sleeve inside the bushing, so I'm thinking I need to do something similar to the factory setup. I'm guessing a piece of steel tubing with a 1/2" ID would allow the bolts to go thru and let the washers on each side hold everything together. Do I need this or not?

Thanks

Yes you need the sleeves. Go get some sch. 40 pipe with a 1/2" ID and you should be fine. You may have to make/buy the large washers as well.

Is Duff slacking now? My kit came with all the hardware and sleeves in the bushings. I did have to go buy a few extra locknutz cause of a bone headed move on my part but... cant beleive they sent you those parts.

After checking with James Duff, I found that they sell the bushing kits either with or without the hardware kit. If you order from JamesDuff.com, the hardware kit is not listed. But if you go to Dufftuff.com it is listed. Called them up and got the hardware kit ordered. Hopefully this will help my install cuz I think that now, I'll just cut right above the frame rail with a sawzall and remove the bushings that way.

I have the hardware kit, but haven't installed it yet. Duff's phone support is very helpful!
