Go on you tube and type in "Cub Ca Debt"....its a newer style cub cadet with a Small block Chevy.

THeres also a guy on there that ran 105-110mph on a reltivly stock lawn mower with a 18hp briggs.

You don't need a v6 or v8 in a lawnmower man, that's just insane.

However, a couple years ago I was really into modding mowers. I got a nice craftsman riding mower, took the blade deck off, took the transaxle out.

I took the transaxle apart and had a friend weld the spider gears in place for me for a cheap positive traction.

This made the mower pretty insane by itself. I was planning on taking the governer out since it only allows 3500 RPM.

If you take a blade deck off a mower, weld the spider gears together, and take off the governer and change the pulley to a slightly smaller size..

You have a machine that is pretty damn fun, and capable of running 60mph, Of course the stock brakes make going above 15mph dangerous, so I would only reccomend the pulley change to someone who can fab up a brake system lol.

My mower got stolen when I left it in the woods overnight. It was fun as hell though man. I drove it to the gas station covered in mud quite a few times.

Why not, a snowblower has been done already.

I was at a Harley shop in upstate NY once, dude told me that someone there had adapted a Harley V-twin to a snowmobile.

More power, argh, argh, argh!

Well the power to weight ratio of a lawn mower is already pretty impressive. What holds them back is the governer and stock transaxle pulley.

You can leave the governer and change the pulley, and it'll still be a fast machine.

What I would like to see is a turbocharged mower.

Oh wait...

Lol this one may make you laugh - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X4frBC7CbkU&feature=related

Freaking awesome - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CVkTyew_bC0&feature=related its obviously a motorcycle/mower hybrid though.

Me and my buddy go mudding on our mowers all the time. Its amazing what they'll do with no deck and a decent set of tires.

Next time we go out ill try to get some video.

A friend of mine has a Cub Cadet original that we welded the spider gears on (yes it has a carrier, ring gear, pinion etc). It is always a good time!

I wouldn't mind swapping the 4cyl out of the Escort into an old lawn mower I have. I'd hate to fall off though. Interesting Idea.
