Well i checked out my tag to see what my lil truck is usin so heres how the tag looks and i couldnt figure out what it meant.

4575 8M16

Any help would be great casue im confused as to the gearing. Im pretty sure the axle is 7.5 but what about the gear ratio?

is that everything on the tag?

if its the truck to the right its a 7.5 either 3.73 or 4.10 gear ratio open diff

build date 88 jan(?)16 or 89 jan 16 be my guess

guess it could be 3.45, didnt relized ford geared them that high just looked it tech and as low as a 3.08 was offered

Well he may not have been able to see the 3 on the tag. It may be a 3.45 gearing. But with a 2.3 it's a 7.5.

well damn i hope its not 3.73 or 4.10 cause its a dog on steady inclines or uphills on the highway with only 14 wheels maybe 25 in total tire wheel size.

3.73's or 4.10's would make it less of a dog on hills.

Those will be on my to do list along with the welded diff or lunch box diff as the guys are callin it.

Yup, its a 3.45 7.5, the first number gets stuck under the bolt usually.
