Looking good! Is it cheaper to get the build it yourself model and buy the electronics or the pre built one?

Cheaper to get a kit - you usually end up tossing out almost all the stock electronics with most RTR trucks. I originally got a RTR SCX-10 TR, and now all that's left that was factory is the transmission, frame, and axles, bumpers, and fender flares - and all of these pieces have been modified in some way. Now it's a '73 Bronco. The factory Axial speed controller in the SCX10's is garbage - every one I've messed with had the same problem, terrible throttle control.

Sweet good to know! I'm looking at getting into the RC thing. From what Ive read all you need with the wraith to make it much better for the average person is a better servo and tires?

Maybe the AE-1 sucks is but the AE-2 is pretty good. I only got rid of mine because I wanted the features the HH BR-XL offered.

Figure out what you want to do with the truck, then buy from there. for starting, i highly recommend the scx10. id get a prebuilt one and change what you need. with a RTR and a 35-55turn motor ($25) you can do mild crawling. its big money for the big power though. ive got near $1,000 in my wraith as it sits now, and will have another 4-500 before its setup exactly how i want it.

ran the truck last weekend, ran mint. pulled a beak, so i may look at better rims, but otherwise its going mint! the truck is running better then i could ever ask for! working all the bugs out of her and getting it well scratched up in the process!

will update with pics soon, going out again tomorrow to crawl on whatever i can find.

so far my novak system is beautiful BTW. may run it in my scx10 im custom building.

your rig is sweettt. im slowly turning my emaxx into a monster/crawler. gonna be running an upgraded novak evx-2 for speed and have a separate parallel system for when i wanna crawl it. someday i will have a wraith like yours

Thank ya sir. its alot of fun, but its an expensive hobby. If i were you, id grab a SCX10, as its an awesome scale truck. I have 2 at the moment, and love to run them as much as my wraith. each truck has good things and bad. the wraith is great for hills and stability, plug good flex. but its about 3-4" wider then scx10.

heres my scx10 when it was stock, at a local hobby shop. this course is designed for pro crawlers, so i was surprised it just didnt get stuck. i faild when attempting to crawl and film at the same time.
