First off I have a 2WD 2004 3.0L with an Auto at just shy of 150k miles. We just went on a 2500 mile trip and while on it started hearing a scraping noise. Since we've been back I've determined that it only happens when shifting at high RPM's (3500+). It's a quick metal on metal scraping noise that happens right when changing gears. It sounds like it's coming from directly under the cab. I also just started hearing a chirping sound from the engine bay. I've got a new gator belt and if that doesn't stop it then I will be replacing the cam syncro. Not sure if it may be related. (I'm thinking no but you never know.)

Has anyone had a similar experience or ideas on what could be the problem before I take it to the dealer?
