Or, if you rotate your tires regularly, keep the car aligned and maintain proper pressure the tires, they should all wear out at the same time. Then you get 4 new tires at once and start the process all over again.

Just a thought.

So of us crazies who run summer tires from late spring to early fall/winters from late fall to early spring on our performance vehicles manage to rotate the tires. :icon_twisted:

And then when I have the jack/impact/torque wrench out, I check the brakes on the 4WD Ranger/AWD Escape. While the tire is off, it manages to get rotated front to back and vice versus.

Note: The Firestone issue was more about untrained individuals manufacturing the tires than Explorers or engineer selected pressure settings. (And yes, I had it happen, and was reimbursed for a set of tires.)

A while back I published Bridgestone's pressure recommendations for size/weight/driving style. And if you wanted to raise the pressure when you loaded your vehicle, then you can get away with lower pressures. But given, most individuals don't check tire pressures; companies are forced to go with a higher pressure.

I hear you. I personally keep up on all my maintenance. That's how I found a broken sway bar end link.

In like most people, I replaced both, plus the sway bar bushings. As you implied with checking your tires, you're already there, might as well check every thing else out.
