I got my 98 Ranger running and decided to drive it to work for the first time.
It had been running good around town at low speeds and everything but when I got it on the highway it started messing up.
I got up around 60 and it just lost its power. push the gas and nothing until I slowed way down and it would sputter and spit until I could feather the gas to make it rev. Then I could go back in drive and it would be fine for about 5 minutes and do it again. Did this 10 times to work and 12 back home.
Put scanner on it and got this.
Throttle/Pedal position sensor switch A circuit Low imput.
Evaporative emission control system pressure sensor high imput.
TP sensor out of range low.
camshaft positon sensor circuit malfunction.
What in the world do I do now.

my f150 had the same problem, you have a short in your wireharness, take it to the dealer and tell them to check the wires directly behind the block

if there is a short ,does that mean there is a bare wire grounding out on something metal to short it, or just a bad wire, I did check fuses and everything is ok.
Has to be a short because coming home it acted up and the battery light came on a it lost power, then if I turn my right blinker on the lights go out.
How will they determine where the short is.

basically its an exposed wire (no insulation) touching either another wire or a piece of metal, the dealer will go through your entire wiring harness to find it, it costed me around 500 bucks but shit im glad my trucks no longer doing it
