another problem on my fourth now 99 4x4 this time

Dad called said he is sick of his ranger. Asked me of I wanted it for a hundred bucks. I love rangers and b2s and jumped on in. I knew reverse was out dad drove it like that for 4 years I kinda know the truck. Motor is solid trans other than reverse Is solid. Near the same era 4x4 would not disengage. He jacked it up put it on blocks. And crawled under the truck and manually shifted the t case control till only rear wheels spun and drove it for years. Well I'm going in to fix it. There I'd no relay click when trying to use dash switch 4 four wheel drive ? Would it make any sound my 89 2.9 4x4 with electric shift made a relay click when using?


When driving down road it every once in a while flashes four four low. Truck made a 500 mile trip in two days in this shape bringing it home this weekend.

Should I still consider rear/first band. 1 st is solid. I don't know if I understand the 1 gear engimg breaking tests for this it is a auto with overdrive. 1-2-d-od btn on shifter
