You gotta pull the trans to get to the slave cylinder. Its not really that difficult but it is time consuming. Its gonna be a pita to access the top 2 bolts on the trans also.

If you take a flashlight and shoot it up into the tranny can you see brake fluid coming out of the Slave? I'm not sure on the 3.0 and tranny, having never worked on one, but there should be a hole in the bottom of the bellhousing that your little eye can see in there, you could also take your starter off to see in there, you want to check for leaks coming from the slave, if you cannot find any in the line or resovoir or master cylnder. If the slave is leaking, you will need to pull the tranny to access it.

Yeah the top tranny bolts are a PITA, I bought a set of ratcheting wrenches just for taking out trannies, you can usually fir your arm back there from under the hood, and get to 'em with a ratcheting wrench, 1/2 inch I beleive, may be different, I haven't ever done a 3.0.....

Like BII said there should be a rubber peice that pops out of the lower left side of the bell housing and you should be able to see the slave. Mine was actually running right out and all over the bell housing. Make sure to get the tool for removing the clutch line if needed, and be easy or you'll be buying a new line they aint very cheap either.

not sure how they look on a 3.0L but my 4.0L M5OD-R1 looks like this, below the clutch quick disconnect line there should be a rubber piece..Clutch inspection hole, the rubber just pops out. The quick disconnect requires a special tool (or so they say) i used a small flat head screwdriver to push the white ring in and it plugs right into the slave itself.

i took this picture prior to ripping my old POS tranny that had the grenaded output shaft

Also just a tip, you'll probably have to unbolt the y-pipe from the headers to gain enough clearance to pull the tranny, (note in the picture that my exhaust was already unbolted before it came out, it makes it a whole lot easier). Also if your exhaust bolts are rusted, get some good penetrating lubricant on them and if you have to let them sit over night, mine were a pita to get out but i didnt snap them off.
