I've got a 1990 Bronco 2 4wd that's giving me transmission issues, and I couldn't find anyone having my same issues when I did a search.
The trans started by stuttering back and forth between gears in overdrive.
It got a little better, then had different problems all-together.
Now when I put it in gear, I have to give it a few blips of the throttle to get it to move.
When it "hits", it's a hard hit and doesn't slip or feel mushy - just "thud" and it goes.
It won't drive unless you start in "1" or "D" and give it a rev.
Same with Reverse.
Once your moving you can manually shift through the gears without issue, but when you slow to a stop you have to drop it into "1" and shift up manually.
Hope I'm describing this in a way it can be understood.
Tried replacing the Vacuum Modulator with no change - hose is also good.
Fluid is full (not overfull either), and no burned smell.
No leaks.
Hope that's enough to start with for suggestions.
