when I do my swap with a d35 from a 91 explorer will the radius arms from the explorer work or do I need to keep the d28 arms? and will the arms need to be kept loose and adjusted along the way or what? better yet does anybody know where I can find a step by step plan for this swap?

It is a direct bolt in. Either Radius arm will work, the Explorers are a little heavier though.
I highly suggest extended arms though.

thanks for the reply. every place i've looked says it's direct bolt in but that doesn't seem to be the case here. when I put the radius arm in the mounting hole and try to swing the axle up,the pivot hole swings out past the pivot mount by about 3 inches or so to far. am i doing something wrong missing something between the two?

Put the axle bushing into the bracket first and install the bolt, then push the radius arm into the mount.

Of and if you are using your transfer case and front shaft it will need to be shortened about an inch, as the d35 is longer than the d28.

You need the loosen the bolts holding the radius arms to the TTB housings. Once you have it mounted, tighten them again. It can be done without doing that but, it is very difficult.
