Ok well i feel like a total dumba$$. I was going to change the fluid in my transfer case but i couldnt find the drain plug. I looked it up and found the location but on my t-case their is a round rubber thing under the t-case motor where the plud should be. Should i take this off or what? I feel so stupid for asking but i gotta do it lol. My truck is a 2002 ford ranger xlt 4x4 4 door 4.0l sohc.
Thanks, Abel

Its a vibration dampener...remove the 4 bolts that hold it on and the drain plug is right behind it.

Some people leave it off, not sure how much of an effect it has on vibrations, but it was put in there for a reason.....

You can also remove the protector plate underneath the transfer case so all the fluid doesnt spill on it. 4 bolts = 1 less thing to clean :D
