It's probably not a good idea to start dealing in false VINS since the purchase would be through my employer. I can still look for a junkyard assembly on car-parts.com and also on the first 2 days of my vacation.
(And yes, you may have noticed from another posting I am looking for a transfer case too. This is also a good opportunity to replace the rear stabilizer bar bushings which are almost gone)
Trust me, I am looking into resolving these repair issues every day. And I will be off work for 8 days in April. I better make good use of that time.
