Okay my truck is auto and wanna make it 5 speed, its a 94 ranger 4x4 4.0L, are all 4.0L engines from 93 to 97 the same? And the tranny i found is a 2wd instead of 4wd, will the transfer case from the auto swap over?

The transmission will bolt to the engine. You absolutely CANNOT just bolt your transfer case to the back of a 2wd transmission just go to town. The output shaft is not long enough to engage. You will have to get a 4x4 output shaft, take the whole trans apart, install the proper output shaft, and put it all back together.

So prolly smart to get a tranny all ready to go, okay wat years and engine types will have a 4x4 tranny 5 speed for a 94 4x4 4.0l truck?

90 on up to oh about 2005 or so should have them readily available. After 2001 some more mods will be needed to make it work properly. 90 to 97 would probably be the best bet.

4.0 or 2.9, but a 2.9 will have lower gears than the 4.0 trans.
