351w swap questions

got an 89 ranger 2WD currently a 2.9 stick, doing some research on putting my 351w in and need a little help, been reading posts for a few days now and still have a few foggy questions, mostly what tranny to go with. was really thinking T-5 ,motor is only about 300hp so should hold up, but also have an aod with fresh rebuild not bullitproof but rebuilt, also have a c-4, so i guess my question comes down to the headers, I have a set of 302 homemade maverick longtubes that i was running on the motor but idk if they will fit if not no biggie, how many of you have done this motor with these transmissions? what was your setup? how tight is the aod? how do your headers fit? Manifolds are not an option.Automatic is the cheaper route for me but if the T-5 is easier then thats the route i will go.

Are you looking for solid mounts or rubber? Also, has anyone tried the 409 stainless shorty headers from ford racing.

rubber mounts gonna try to make the plates first and see where it sits. sounds like the convertible mounts will limit my header selection even more do to sitting the motor lower in the engine bay.
