Truck makes funny noise
Video describes it, but its just on cold starts. Excuse my voice, I've got a terrible cold.

Yeah sounds liek it could be the started sticking a little bit before it disengages...

It almost sounds like a solenoid opening and closing fast, although its not rhythmic. I did notice something strange in the video. Maybe coincidental, maybe not, but the orange light on your dash directly under the word "Fuel" got bright at exactly the time the noise started and went off exactly when it stopped. Can't tell from the vid what it is- ABS warning light?

Might be worth a look-see. Good luck...

I think thats just the ABS light coming on when you do a normal start up.

Thats my thinking as well.

If you could have someone else start it while your in different areas of the truck, you could narrow it down and get a better idea.

Mine does the same thing when it's cold. I think it's just the starter sticking to the ring gear.

I had this exact same problem with my Ranger. It used to only do it on cold starts but after a while it got worse and worse. Only was to get rid of the noise is to replace the starter.
