Since the General has re-released the Canyon/Colorado, maybe Ford will offer a redesigned Ranger here.

Ford had it on display at the Detroit Auto Show this year, saying it was to compete with the Colorado. Sounds more and more like it will come to the US. Lots of latest news on Google (2016 Ranger). In reality, it's nothing more than the old Explorer Sport Trac, nothing at all to get excited over. Too large for my likes.

I don't get how anyone thinks $40k is ok for a compact truck. Don't care how much leather you stuff the thing with. I think it is obscene for a fullsize when in fact it is a cheap one...

Not for the USA and it is really fugly. Looks like Ford is trying to copy a bit of a Toyota look.

What is that, a 4 foot bed? Why bother? Maybe they forgot that it's supposed to be a pickup truck?
Nope, I'll pass. Esp. at $20K and up. No way.

Looked at a couple more sites for the 2016 Ranger. They do show the longer 6 1/2ft bed on the two door, four door gets the short bed. Still betting it does show up late Fall. To be built on same Atlas platform as the F150 with a tubro-charged 2.3 rated at 285 hp. $20K not bad considering that the '05' XLT was over $17K.

NOt for the USA. My brother-in-law has worked for Ford for almost 30 years. He builds the trucks. He said this is not even near production and won't be either.

Dude, the Ford Ranger is dead...never coming back....dead. There are too many post about this Ranger comeback.....never going to happen. If you go live in another country you might get one there. That 20k price will never happen. A base pickup is more than that.

Yup, just like the Colorado.

Maybe just maybe Ford will see the Tacos, Dakotas, Colorados and Fronteers selling well and if there are a bunch of people wishing for a new Ranger, they would be downright stupid not to oblige. My guess is they were letting GM volunteer to be their test, if the Colorado flopped due to lack of demand it would be on their head.

I know not everybody just goes to a F-150 or a Fiesta instead of a Ranger like they thought.

F-150's start at $25k, if the Ranger did come back they would have to start below that. For as much fluff as they have built into the F-150's pricing starting at $20k is plausible.
