I remember the "thump" TSB that affected '98-'00 trucks (where Ford wastefully replaced whole entire driveshafts because of it)... Greasing the slip with CV grease invariably seemed to fix those (been maybe 7-8 years since I did my brother's '98, still fine). Is this something more recent? (possibly because the later shafts are aluminum? Seems I must've done a couple of them too, but I can't swear to it).
