looking to see if anyone has converted 2 stage mirrors like the ones on the econoline vans to go on a 94 generation ranger, i dont want them for towing i want them so i can see both the next lane and the rear tire of the truck. dont have to be off an econoline, whatever they could come off that wouldnt be that hard to convert...

I have plans to do this in the future, but right now I've got a few other projects ahead of this. It would be able to see more out of the rear view mirrors. I'm also interested to see if anyone has done this already, hopefully someone has.

Uh, if that is what you want to do wouldn't it be easier to go get some of those stick-on parabolic units?

I have one on my truck, and it's pretty good.

I thought about putting them on my half doors.

They'd probably look dumb ass all hell on a street ride or DD.

My credo
When I die, I want to go where the dogs are.

I have those on both mirrors, on all my vehicles, unless they come with them. The right mirror that is a convex, still needs a little help IMO.
I'm not sure what a two stage mirror is, anyone?:icon_cheers:

^^^Yes, these stick-on parabolic units work great and look pretty good. A lot easier and much better than having to mount different mirrors that DO look strange on small trucks. I see towing type mirrors on small trucks and they just look a bit odd to me. I tow stuff and haul my boats a few times a month and my stock mirrors work great.

i have nothing to add to how to make them fit but who cares how stupid they look.

there's a geo metro around here with towing mirrors from a (i had them on my 96 dodge 2500) dodge with what looks to be a gen1/2 rbv windshield visor somehow put on it and a stack coming out the side of it. who cares how ridiculous it looks!
