2.9 idling choppy and rich

i have a 86 2.9 its running rich and idles real choppy. i replaced the o2 sensor and it didnt effect anything. i swapped out my MAP sensor and it still ran bad. whats wrong?? for some reason im getting to much fuel. could it be a bad computer or injectors or feul pressure regulator.

HAve you tested the fuel pressure?? maybe a bad FPR....vacuum leak or bad ground somewhere.

what would a bad ground do?? and what would a bad ground be on that causes this?? maybe my coil or somthing?? and im checking my fpr today

beleive there is a ground wire that is part of the TFI connection (orange??) I'm thinking its on the passanger side head.
if the ground isn't consistant then it will make the electrial signal for the ignition & eventually spark do wild things.


there is a ground on the coil too....definatly check the main ground wire tot the frame as well....it is amazing what a bad or poor ground will do to electronic ignitions

will this effect my timing because i checked it yesterday and my timing is good

How much was it ? Today I put on a new fuel press. reg. and battery cables. Checked the map sensor.Last week the elect.dist.module........I have had enough dissapointment with this truck.

i was starting to give up too. i got a map sensor and fpr and a computer for like 50 bucks.
th junk yard is the way to go autozone wanted like 90 for just the fpr
