I got a 1999 Ford Ranger with a 3.0 and also just got a 1999 Explorer 5.0 AWD and was wondering if I could install everything from the Explorer to the Ranger. But my main concern is installing the front differential from the Explorer into the Ranger. Both trucks are complete. Please help.

Front diff. should be a direct swap.

Your problem will be that the AWD transfercase may not fit between the framerails.

The awd case will fit, thats what I'm running (check out the first post of my build thread) which is about the same size as an rbv case. The fullsize tcases such as the 1356, are wider and have difficulties fitting in ranger framerails. You can custom make a trans crossmember to locate the trans 1" closer to the passenger side to give more clearance to the drivers side for the case...

I always wanted an awd ranger with a v8. Then my tranny went and my wife got it towed during an argument. Now I'm driving a 98 explorer... Miss my ranger. So easy to heat up that little cab.
